Royal Mail Strike Information
The Communication Workers Union (CWU) has called on its members who collect, sort and deliver parcels and letters to take further national strike action on the following dates:
When is the strike?
- Thursday 24th November
- Friday 25th November (Black Friday)
- Wednesday 30th November
- Thursday 1st December
What has Royal Mail said?
Royal Mail has said there will be delays to their network; this is inevitable with an industrial action affecting so many royal mail employees.
Tracked 24 (including COVID test kits and medical prescription items): Tracked 24 items will be treated as a priority for delivery on days when strike action is taking place. However, significantly reduced resources mean there will be a delay to some Tracked 24 items posted the day before, on the day of and in the days immediately after strike action.
How will this affect me?
Items posted the day before, during or in the days after any strike action will be subject to delay. Royal Mail will provide further details of the expected delays to items during the period of industrial action.
Our cut-off time will change to 11:00 am on days of strike action
What do you recommend?
We recommend selecting Priority Delivery (We will be sending on the Tracked 24 Royal Mail Service) or If you require an order urgently we recommend using the Next Working Day Service (We will be sending Next Working Day orders using the DPD Next Day Service so this service will not be directly affected.
We recommend getting your order in before 11:00 am on days of strike action as Royal Mail will be collecting early. If you order after 11:00 am we recommend using the Next Working Day shipping option or Saturday if a strike falls on a Friday as this will be sent via DPD and will be subject to a 1pm cut-off time.
