Designed as a direct fit with no case machining required, this upgrade increases the bore to 40mm while retaining compatibility with the stock 28mm Zenoah crankshaft. You must reuse or replace the following components:
Transfer port covers
Piston pin (gudgeon pin)
Piston pin washers
Piston pin bearing — highly recommended to replace using Zenoah Part Number: 586676401
Installation Notes
The piston arrow must face the exhaust side of the cylinder.
Ensure snap rings are seated correctly to avoid engine damage.
Fujiwara specifies applying a thin layer of liquid gasket (ThreeBond TB1217F) to both sides of the spacers when installing or reinstalling the transfer covers.
Break‑In Recommendation
For best results, Fujiwara advises:
First ⅓ tank at low speed
Remaining ⅔ tank at medium to high speed
Power output will continue to improve as the engine completes its break‑in cycle.
